On Thursday 08/06/17, the UK people will be going to poll to elect a new prime minister that will preside over and govern the affair of the nation. Going into this election, many things has been happening especially regarding the security across the country. We need to pray for the will of God for there is no power but of God; the power that ordained by God. (Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God- Rom 13:1). We also know that the government of this world is upon His shoulder, infact in His teaching on model of prayer He taught us that we should pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Matt. 6:10. For His Kingdom to come here on earth, the person that He has ordained must rule and that is why I encourage us to pray the prayer points below for He is the one that answers prayers Psalm 65:2. He said “If the people that are call by His name shall humble themselves and pray, He will hear us. 2 Chro 7:14
Prayer Points
1. Commit the election unto God’s hand to take control and decree that His only will be done. Pray for safe and fair election Psalm 127:1; Prov.16:1
2. Pray that God will frustrate every device of the crafty concerning the election, so that they will not be able to perform their plans. Job 5:12.
3. Pray for a huge turnout of voters to vote freely without any emotion to select capable men who are able and hate iniquities. Exodus 18:21
4. Pray for protection from any attacks from enemies that would prevent or delay the election. Deut.3:22
5. Pray for strong hedge of protection around the UK during this time of decision. Deut. 31:6
6. Pray that the news media will broadcast the truth. John 8:32
7. Thank Him for the answered prayers. Eph. 3:20-21
