Everybody knows that Christmas season is all about giving, i.e. to our spouse, children, friends, beloved family members etc., but many find themselves stressed out when it comes to shopping for the appropriate and best gifts. This article describes three ways to book your shopping early, so as to avoid last minute shopping as well as the stress that comes along with it.

The Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide

1.Create a list

Make a list of people that you plan to give gifts to, so as to ensure you have all the people that you want to buy gift(s) for, and to avoid overspending or leaving a loved one out of your gift list. Draw up a budget.

2.Categorized the gifts

After creating the list, you need to categorize the gifts – especially when you have a big family like mine as the same gift will not be given to everyone, i.e. clothing, perfume, gift vouchers, hampers, Christmas cards etc. Also, as part of your categorization exercise, split the gifts according to gender, close relations, friends, colleagues. This will give you an idea of which gift to buy for each person on your list, the shops to get the gifts from, and allow you to modify your budget, if necessary, as well as to avoid distractions when you start shopping for the gifts.

3.Start shopping early

After categorizing the gifts, it’s now time to start shopping early; either online or by going directly to the shopping mall/centers. Going to the shopping malls helps you to enjoy the atmosphere of Christmas music in the shops with other shoppers, whereas shopping online would help you avoid traffic jams and crowds; but remember to order way ahead of time to avoid late delivery disappointments.
