Today motherhood is celebrated in United Kingdom and I just was to celebrate motherhood but before then, I celebrate the motherhood of all, the maker of heaven and earth, the one that said that He would never forget us – “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget you” Isaiah 49:15.

As we celebrate the motherhood today, I celebrate my mother – Moyosore Adebayo, even though you have gone to be with the Lord, I still hold you dearly to my heart for all you have done for me when you are here on earth, for all the shame you took because of me, supporting me throughout my university education with the little income that comes to you, encouragement in times of despair and uncertainty, go without food or cloths for me as long as I’m ok and taken all my suffering to see that I become all God has destined me to be. Mum, I will always remember you as long as I live.

I remember the “Sweet Mother” song by Prince Nico Mbarga.

Sweet mother I no go forget you
For dey suffer we you suffer for me yeah [2x]

When i dey crry my mother go carry me
She go say my pikin wetin you dey cry yeah yeah
Stop stop! stop stop!! stop stop!!!
Make you no cry again oo

Pray to know God

Please, pray this prayer if you happen not to know this God that I’m talking about and you would like to begin a relationship with God, say this prayer out loud in your own words:

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that you raised Jesus from the dead. I now accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour. Thank your accepting me. Amen.
